I'm worried about AI and data being used for 'bad' not 'good' especially the control of people through COVID-vaccines and nano technology. Would love to hear your thoughts on how we can guide 'powerful people' to use tech for good.

Is it possible for singular governments to establish effective digital legislation, given that many tech platforms are multinational in nature? If not governments, who has the capacity to implement this governance?

Interesting question @WilliamYeung. From here in Johannesburg, South Africa, I also have similar concerns as the country is embarking on a 4IR strategy. The reality is that, as you said, these platforms are multi jurisdictional in nature.

Great point @William - I wouldn’t look to the UN to push back on tech giants, as they are also essentially member associations of national governments

@Delphine - you are right to point out that some companies are making strides. MS’s development of PhotoDNA has been an absolute game changer in tackling the spread of CSAM online.

Indeed @Delphine most regulators do not understand technologies and how these companies work and that is a crucial step to making relevant and useful regulations
