@N Kishor Narang - My sense (but I have not used the data) is that more energy is used to do “Mining” for Crypotcurrencies than is currently used to build and rebuild most ML models. As Sasha implied, it is the building of the neural network, not the use of the neural network, that takes the most energy.

The latest (very expensive) computerized farm equipment senses soil and plant conditions every meter or so, and can upload this data to a cloud, which can then be analyzed by the (large) farmer or the agribusiness. We should watch this space to see if the adoption of this new generation of equipment is slowed down by the CoVid-19 great depression.
